Votive Candle holders
Votive candle holders are made specifically for use with votive candles. It's important to use the proper holders for all of your candles. Votive candles are smaller and tend to liquify when lit for long periods of time. It's important to have a holder that can contain all of the hot oil.
A good quality holder is made of thicker glass that can withstand high temperatures. The holder will become very hot and should not be moved for any reason after the candle is lit. Before the candle is lit should be paced in a safe place. This means don't place with in the reach of children or pets. Any type of candle should be out of their reach. It's also not a good idea to place a candle in any type of draft such as an open window. Curtains will catch on fire if the slightest breeze blows them into the flame of your candle.
I prefer either glass or metal for my holders. I have seen some that are made of plastic. If you prefer to use paraffin candles I wouldn't use the plastic ones. Paraffin wax gets very hot. Plastic has a tendency to melt! If you choose to use a higher quality of candle such as a soy wax candle the wax shouldn't get hot enough to melt the holders.
The right holder can transform any old candle into a work of art. There are many different styles of holders. You can easily find one or many that will reflect whatever mood you're in.
