Soy candles are made from hydrogenated soy bean oil. You can only get this from soy bean plants. Paraffin wax however is a petroleum product. Petroleum comes from crude oil sludge. This is what we have been burning in our homes every time we light a paraffin candle. You wouldn't burn a bucket of sludge in your living room would you?
They are natural and are safer to burn around your whole family and pets too. Just because they are safer doesn't mean you should leave a candle unattended.
