Even Burning Candles
Looking for even burning candles? Try soy. You'll never find a better candle. I've lost count how many candles I've bought that never burn evenly.
Most of the paraffin candles I've purchased in the past burn right through the center of the candle. They leave a rim of wax around the outside edge that never melts with the rest of the candle.
After a while it's impossible to keep them lit. They stay going for a few minutes and the uneven wax around the sides tends to smother the wick.
I had a large candle once that wouldn't stay lit. When it was time to trim the wick I got the stupid idea to trim the extra wax off the outside edges. This was and is a very unwise idea. I ended up with a cut on my arm when my hand slipped. My cut even had small pieces of wax it. Don't ever try this.
Don't bother with low quality paraffin wax candles. It's just not worth the pain and hassle.
